The Sony FX5 is a compact full-frame Cinema Line camera designed for professional film, documentary, commercial, and television production. Thanks to its 33MP partially stacked full-frame Exmor RS CMOS sensor, the FX5 combines high image quality with fast sensor readout in a lightweight body. As a result, it works especially well for handheld shooting, gimbals, documentaries, and fast-moving productions.

Moreover, the FX5 records 4K internally at up to 120 fps in full-frame mode. It supports 10-bit 4:2:2 recording, while S-Log3 and S-Cinetone provide flexible workflows for both color grading and fast delivery. In addition, the camera offers 16 stops of dynamic range in S-Log3, giving cinematographers greater control over highlights and shadows.

For changing lighting conditions, the FX5 features an advanced electronic variable ND filter. Therefore, operators can adjust exposure smoothly while keeping their preferred aperture and shutter settings.
