The Nikon ZR is a compact full-frame cinema camera designed for professional video production, combining Nikon’s Z-mount versatility with RED-inspired cinematic workflows. In addition, it records R3D NE 6K RAW internally, giving filmmakers access to 12-bit RAW recording without requiring an external recorder.

Furthermore, the ZR delivers 15+ stops of dynamic range through R3D NE and supports Nikon N-RAW and Apple ProRes RAW HQ. It can record up to 6K at 59.94p, while 4K recording reaches up to 119.88p for smooth slow-motion footage. Therefore, it works well for commercials, documentaries, branded content, music videos, and other demanding productions.

The camera also features a large 4.0-inch vari-angle touchscreen monitor with 1000 cd/m² brightness, making framing and monitoring easier in bright environments. Moreover, its AI-powered autofocus detects nine subject types, while built-in 32-bit float audio recording helps capture high-quality sound with less need for manual gain adjustment.

Finally, the Nikon ZR combines a lightweight body with a durable, fan-less design and dust- and drip-resistant construction. Its Nikon Z mount also provides access to a wide range of NIKKOR Z lenses and compatible adapted lenses, making the camera highly flexible for different production setups.
